Welcome
Welcome to my new blog. I started a new blog because I had shared the previous with too many IRL people. Not that that's a bad thing - I just realized that the focus wasn't there, and I had to monitor my posts more than I liked doing.
So...I decided to start a new one. I enjoy writing & documenting what is going on in my life, so here is the home for such ramblings.
My goal is for each day have a particular focus. Thus far, I haven't "fleshed out" what each day will be...workin' on it. This much I do know: my blog will be about my life - so let me tell you a bit about myself!
I am a single mother to a high school senior. He's pretty awesome. That's not just me talking - ask anyone that knows him...he's pretty awesome!
I am a junior high teacher. I team 8th grade American History, am the Yearbook Advisor, coach high school and junior high Quiz Bowl, and am looking into starting an environmental club.
I recently began a vegetarian. It's something I wanted to do for a long time, but didn't think I liked vegetables...which would make being a vegetarian kind of difficult. Come to find out, I didn't like vegetables the way I grew up eating them. I LOVE THEM now!! This has been one of the best decisions I have made in a long time.
I do my best to be very aware of my impact on the environment and am constantly attempting to lessen that impact. It's kind of a big deal to me.
I like to sew, weave baskets, and can knit & crochet.
I've run 3 half marathons, yet I kind of hate running. I just like the whole endorphin high after I'm DONE running. I suck at running - seriously suck at it.
I have two cats...Mozilla and Chrome. You will see lots of pictures of them in this blog.
